This book is the first of the series by the same title (but different sub-titles) that aims to bring to fore certain anecdotes and experiences as narrated by those who were there and who witnessed such events unfolding in front of their own eyes during Indo-Pak War 1971. That is the closest one can get to the truth of a battlefield engagement. Have we been able to achieve 100% accuracy? We can’t say! But we are sanguine that all such accounts are as close to the truth as possible. The contributors, all in senior age brackets by now, are free from the limitations that get imposed both by the service regulations and impact of events that may have happened in the recent past. They are well beyond such inducements. This book is the first one in the series of four books on the stories from 1971 war.
Photographed and compiled painstakingly, the book printed on superior photographic paper, carries the details that would delight any birdwatcher or student of ornithology.
This book offers a simplistic explanation of articles, faith, history, culture, tourism in Ladakh. Any first-time visitor to Ladakh is bound to get mystified by many strange looking objects, some unusual rituals and of course a very harsh climate. This book will help such travellers to understand Ladakh better and prepare them for what lies ahead. Then there are things of beauty that will dazzle anyone. A simple introduction into such issues like landscape, art and craft, social structure and so on has been offered for the travellers who travel out of love for the place rather than for running away from their busy lives. The core issue remains Buddhist Ladakh. Authors:- This team of TWO consists of a Ladakhi man who is a scholar and has many published works to his credit. The other one is a traveller, writer and a die-hard Ladakh addict. The work is, thus, an output of two minds- one insider and other from outside. The mix has a healthy tone to it and a traveller would identify with the explanations easily.
